  • Bike Aid

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Malawi | Amount: $10,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

    WUSC’s Bike for Aid project distributes bikes and bike ambulances to community-based organizations that provide home-based care, counselling and testing, prevention, outreach, and transportation services for HIV/AIDS patients in Malawi. This pilot project will focus on income generating activities that will pay for urgently-needed bike repairs.

  • Increase Leadership & Political Participation of Afro-Descendant Women

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Peru | Amount: $23,185 | Funded in 2011/2012

    MATCH and WUSC are working in partnership with Afro-Peruvian women’s organizations to Increase Leadership & Political Participation of Afro-Descendant Women. They will train emerging and established leaders as well as build an action plan for these groups to work together on shared objectives.

  • Andean Regional Initiative

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Peru | Amount: $17,324 | Funded in 2014-15

    The project aims to improve the well-being of marginalized populations - particularly women and Indigenous peoples in the Huarmey Municipality of Peru by providing extensive training and capacity building to municipal authorities, civil society members and community leaders.

  • Bridging Rural Information Dissemination

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Ghana | Amount: $27,275 | Funded in 2018-2019

    This project will enable rural women raising guinea fowl to access quality information, training and services to grow their business, access markets and increase incomes. The project includes a 12-week interactive radio program alongside capacity building on women’s economic inclusion.
