    Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities will facilitate resettlement of returnee families in their original villages of Mannar District of Sri Lanka, enhancing their livelihood opportunities through improved local agricultural infrastructure, capacity building and the promotion of ecological agriculture.

  • Shelter for Refugees & Host Communities

    Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: Kenya | Amount: $25,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

    Shelter for Refugees & Host Communities in Turkana District will provide protection to refugees and their hosts in communities through the provision of shelter. Beneficiaries are the victims of violence which occurred after the last Kenyan national elections.

  • Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities of Returnees in Mannar District

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Sri Lanka | Amount: $19,861 | Funded in 2011/2012

    Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities of Returnees in Mannar District, Sri Lanka facilitates the resettlement of returnee families, after the conflict by enhancing their livelihood opportunities through the improvement of local agricultural infrastructure and animal husbandry, and the promotion of and capacity building toward use of ecological farming methods.

  • Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities of Returnees in Mannar District

    This project is Enhancing Livelihood Opportunities of Returnees in Mannar District by assisting them in constructing four agro wells for off-season highland agricultural production to enhance food security, and repairing an access road.

  • Enhancing Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities for Returnee Youth in Mannar District, North Sri Lank

    Fund: Theme Fund | Country: Sri Lanka | Amount: $17195 | Funded in 2013-14

    This project will increase the sustainable livelihood opportunities for war affected youth in three villages of Manthai West DS Division, North Sri Lanka, through skill training and provision of inputs for aquaculture fishing and smoked fish production, market accessibility and business management training.

  • Facilitating Informed and Considered Refugee Return

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: India | Amount: $14,709 | Funded in 2014-15

    The project seeks to assist a target of 65,593 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees living in refugee camps in Tamilnadu, India, in negotiating for favorable policies for refugee return and an informed and considered return to their homeland.

  • Civil Documentation for Sri Lanka Tamil Refugees

    Fund: Theme Fund | Country: India | Amount: $16,728 | Funded in 2018-2019

    This project will help girls, boys, women and men living in rural refugee camps in Tamil Nadu secure their civil legal documents, such as citizenship certificates, to reduce the vulnerability of being classified as a stateless person. This will also assist their considered, informed and voluntary return to their homeland, Sri Lanka.

  • Reducing Climate Change Vulnerabilities by Promoting Local Knowledge

    Fund: Development Fund | Country: Bangladesh | Amount: $17,272 | Funded in 2018-2019

    This project will use community knowledge to identify and promote tolerant seeds and livestock in ten villages from three disaster-prone zones. It will also promote bamboo binding and mangrove regeneration within the broader context of agro-ecology.
