• Provision of Emergency Assistance to People Affected by Floods

  Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: Pakistan | Amount: $50,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

  Plan’s Provision of Emergency Assistance to People Affected by Floods helps 13,000 families in the provinces of South Punjab and Sindh, Pakistan, providing food, shelter, health services and psychosocial support on a priority basis.

  This project was part of $200,000 received from the Government of Manitoba, designated specifically to respond to the July 2010 flooding in Pakistan.

• Emergency Assistance to Children & their Families Affected by Floods in Southern Shaanxi Province

  Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: China | Amount: $25,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

  Provision of Emergency Assistance to Children & their Families Affected by Floods in Southern Shaanxi Province will reduce the immediate impact of flooding on affected student populations, provide temporary structures, ensure continued education, and involve students in disaster risk prevention.

• Emergency Assistance to People Affected by the Food Crisis in the Tellaberi and Dosso Regions

  Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: Niger | Amount: $25,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

  Plan is delivering Emergency Assistance to People Affected by the Food Crisis in the Tellaberi and Dosso Regions of Niger. This includes food, gardening supplies, recovery of lost livelihoods, community early warning systems and cereal banks with food and seed stocks.

• Protecting Children and Youth against ICT Enabled Sexual Abuse & Exploitation

  Fund: Development Fund | Country: Brazil, Thailand | Amount: $120,000 | Funded in 2010/2011

  Plan’s Protecting Children and Youth against ICT Enabled Sexual Abuse & Exploitation project, will work with partners in Brazil and Thailand on child protection issues by addressing on-line sexual exploitation of children in the context of Information and Communications Technologies.

• Emergency Assistance to Children & other Vulnerable Groups in Myanmar

  Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: Myanmar | Amount: $20,000 | Funded in 2008/2009

  In this project, PLAN worked with its local partners to provide immediate humanitarian relief. The focus was on 50,000 children and members of other vulnerable groups affected by Cyclone Nargis.

  This project was part of $100,000 received from the Government of Manitoba, designated specifically to respond to flooding in Burma/Myanmar caused by Cyclone Nargis.

• Emergency Assistance to Children & other Vulnerable Groups Affected by the Sichuan Earthquake

  Fund: Relief and Rehabilitation Fund | Country: China | Amount: $25,000 | Funded in 2008/2009

  PLAN is reducing the immediate impact of the earthquake by providing assistance in the form of primary health care, water & sanitation, and child protection. PLAN will work in close cooperation with local authorities in Sichuan in identifying beneficiaries and monitoring project activities.

• Reducing Domestic Violence Against Children

  Fund: Development Fund | Country: El Salvador | Amount: $70,000 | Funded in 2008/2009

  This project contributes to the reduction of domestic violence against children (girls and boys) in areas of El Salvador using gender-sensitive approaches.

• Reducing Violence Against Children in Honduras

  Fund: Development Fund | Country: Honduras | Amount: $40,000 | Funded in 2008/2009

  This project contributes to the reduction of domestic violence against children (girls and boys) in areas of Honduras using gender-sensitive approaches.
