Don’t miss Manitoba Council for International Cooperation’s Voices for Change extra special [At] Home edition of Survival of the Richest!

Three Manitoba youth poets; Sarah Beatty, from Murdoch MacKay Collegiate, and Urooba Ahmed and Sophia Abolore, from Fort Richmond Collegiate, connected virtually under quarantine to create the newest MCIC Voices for Change spoken word poem: Survival of the Richest.

Voices for Change @ Home invited Manitoba youth to explore social justice through the arts and create an online piece about the struggles, successes and global issues that have been raised by the pandemic.

Under the direction of MCIC and spoken word artist, Steve Locke, the trio of youth poets created a sensitive poem touching on the different issues surrounding the global pandemic, personal storytelling and helping the most vulnerable.

This poem debuted at MCIC’s AGM on June 25th.
