Karen is a White House recognized Gender Equality Changemaker, a Canadian Global Goodwill Ambassador and a passionate thought-leader on global equality.
As a leading expert on gender equality, intersectionality and inclusion, Karen works closely with NGOs, governments and corporations to deliver effectively on equality — both internationally and across Canada. She also designs and leads innovative initiatives to accelerate progress for women in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) through the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences.
In her previous role at Plan International Canada, Karen was instrumental in positioning Plan as a leader in gender equality and child rights through a number of special initiatives including designing community based programs for the Because I am a Girl campaign.
