Champions of Change (Lunch & Learn)
On April 24th don't miss this inspiring conversation with the 2024 Development Impact Award winners, iDE Canada and Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR).
The Development Impact Awards recognize and honour projects that align with at least one of the action areas of the Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP) and have brought about meaningful change in communities. They recognize those who are making a difference, building a more just and sustainable world through international cooperation.
CLWR and iDE Canada's incredible programs are working towards advancing gender equality, respecting human dignity, and are truly transforming lives:
- CLWR's GRIT project (Gender-Responsive and Inclusive Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the West Bank) recognizes the capacity and tenacity of Palestinian women, including women with disabilities, and seeks to reduce barriers to help them achieve their educational and career goals.
- iDE Canada's Sama Sama sanitation program established itself as a service provider focused on creating viable market-based solutions that address rural Ghana’s needs for safe and effective sanitation along the value chain – creating women-powered businesses and celebrating human dignity along the way.
iDE Canada and CLWR, alongside their partners, were honoured at the International Development Week 2024 celebration at the Manitoba Legislative Building this past February (read more here).
